Aerial images of the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast

Chris Harris has hiked, paddled, driven, and ridden horseback over hundreds of kilometres throughout central British Columbia in pursuit of his art. Now, for a whole new perspective, he’s taken to the skies. In partnership with writer Sage Birchwater, the landscape photographer is retracing the flight paths of early pilots whose aerial pursuits aided in the development of the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region. Their book, Fly Over: An Aviation Legacy of the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast (Country Light Publishing) will be released in fall 2012.

In the meantime, read about their exploits in the feature article “Flight plan,” in the Spring 2012 issue of British Columbia Magazine.

Here, Chris Harris generously shares a few more of his exceptional images from the air. For more on Harris and details on Fly Over, visit chrisharris.com.
